Just something to think about

As I battle with frustration with our insurance company, Kevin DeYoung had some helpful thoughts for me about my attitude of entitlement to a fair life. Read his entire post here.

"But there’s another way to look at the world, another way to experience life, and that’s through the lens of grace. With these glasses on you’ll reckon that most days are a whole lot better than you deserve. And on the really hard days, you’ll fight to believe that God is working even this for good. With the glasses of grace, you’ll smile when other people succeed. Instead of experiencing life as a series of disappointments and occasions where you were not given the treatment you deserve, you’ll experience life as a gift. You’ll see grace all around you. You’ll celebrate the grace you see in someone else or given to someone else. It’s a profoundly different way of viewing the world."

I don't want to miss the abundance of grace that fills my days because I'm spending my time focusing on what I think I deserve.

  1. Thanks for posting this! Boy what an encouragement to me too! I wanted to tell you for a while, but guess this is the best place = you and gary truly exude love for others. I never feel a sense of judgement or criticizing or anything just pure acceptance, grace and love toward others. It's so refreshing and wonderful and a graet example. And really I already think that you genuinely are happy for others. :) Sorry about insurance - :( but I am happy for you in my life b/c you help me be a more christlike person.
